STORES MANAGER

Responsible for managing the warehouse taking responsibility for ensuring the right products are receipted, stored, and delivered to the production area, to the required quality standard, and in the most cost-effective, and safe, way.

Member of the operations team (SLT) reporting into the Head of Operations.

Based at Warrenpoint, Newry, Northern Ireland.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Experience in a similar role preferably within a high volume processing environment

DESIRED CRITERIA

  • Demonstrable experience in a food manufacturing environment

  • Proven experience in a previous role

  • Experience in effective stores and warehouse management.

  • Strong project management skills

YOUR DUTIES

  • · Ensure a safe working environment for all employees, visitors, and contractors within the stores area by strict enforcement of the DELILITES Health & Safety (H&S) policy and by developing a proactive culture to reducing accidents.

  • Ensure safe systems of work are documented and in place for the operation , cleaning , and maintenance for all areas within the stores and that up-to-date risk assessments have been completed and signed off.

  • Ensure H&S impacts assessments are carried out for all capital investment projects. Carry out routine H&S audits ensuring that follow-up actions are documented and closed off.

  • Raise any H&S concerns at the monthly H&S meeting.

  • Deliver the budgeted operational performance , for the stores area , in terms of RHD ( receipts , handling , despatch ) , storage , pallets , PPM ( pallets per man hour ) and material handling equipment ( MHE ) leasing costs .

  • Ensure all indirect and direct labour costs are aligned to the product cost standards.

  • Ensure all part of the stores area are totally compliant with the required technical , food safety , hygiene and health & safety polices.

  • Engage with customer site audits of the stores area and, in conjunction with the technical team , close off any non-conformances.

  • Ensure that all stores staff have up-to-date job descriptions and the required skill levels for every position and , where appropriate , ensure that the relevant training is put in place to constantly deliver this objective.

  • In addition, all staff should be properly briefed and aligned with all company policies and be familiar with the company employee handbook.

  • Recruit new staff as needed ensuring that all new employees are properly inducted and have the right skill levels for each position.

  • Ensure that all MHE is maintained and compliant with inspection regimes in line with legal requirements and that all checks are documented with associated documentation.

  • Manage and monitor inbound delivery performance of suppliers liaising with the procurement department to highlight any poor performance.

  • Constantly control , monitor and manage all stock keeping units ensuring that they align with the Intact stock control system.

  • Facilitate full rolling perpetual stock takes ensuring all computerised transactions are carried out.

  • Supply all production areas with the required raw materials and packaging at required time ( and in line with required lead times ) ensuring no gaps in the production schedule

  • Always maintain the required levels of cleanliness within the stores area.
