As we followed along with the COP27 Summit in Egypt, we have been reflecting on our own sustainability-focused goals and achievements to date.
Holding ourselves responsible for improving the processes allows us to implement strategies that are best suited to influence the industry and reduce our impact on the environment.

What is COP27?
This year, the 27th Conference of the Parties as part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Held from the 6th to the 18th of November, Heads of State, ministers, negotiators, along with climate activists civil society representatives and CEOs from around the globe came together to take action against climate change and outline collective climate goals.
With the slogan “Together for Implementation”, this year the focus was on building on the outcomes of COP 26, implementation of the Paris Agreement, accelerating the growth of an equitable clean energy economy and delivering a clear plan for tackling the climate emergency.
The agenda followed broad thematic days with a series of events and a clear key focus on topics such as ‘Decarbonisation’, ‘Energy’, ‘Biodiversity’, ‘Solutions’ etc.
Why do Sustainable Development Goals matter?
The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, providing a blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.
As social and environmental threats become increasingly more frequent and severe, the SDGs provide a framework for all countries to address these issues, putting the world on a more sustainable path by 2030.
How we're changing for the better.
While DELI LITES has always attached significant importance to food, people, and the planet, the work is never done, and we continue to evolve with the sustainability challenges that we face on a local and global level.
The DELI LITES’ Directors have already changed our legal framework, and have committed through the Articles of Association, which specifies we must have a material positive impact on society and the environment.
The Environmental Social and Governance factors (ESGs) are also taken very seriously at Board level. At monthly meetings these are mandatories on the agenda to ensure the framework is incorporated within the business model. DELI LITES have closely aligned themselves with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, identifying several goals where the company can have the biggest impact.
