Our

Story

Warrenpoint Co. Down

The inspiration

Our story starts in the 1990s, when Jackie Reid and her four sisters spent a summer working in New York. A true foodie at heart, Jackie fell in love with the delicious flavours and quality ingredients she discovered in the city’s downtown delis. Returning home, she was inspired to bring that same passion for fresh, vibrant food to Ireland — offering people something healthier, more exciting, and full of flavour.

Humble beginnings

In 1994, the first DELI LITES store opened in Newry, Co. Down, quickly gaining a loyal local following. Alongside her husband Brian, Jackie spotted an opportunity — to craft artisan sandwiches for convenience stores, schools, and universities across Ireland. Together, they founded DELI LITES Ireland Ltd, producing just 30 sandwiches a day in the early days.

But demand soon soared. Within three years, the business had expanded twice to meet growing orders, including a breakthrough partnership supplying a large retail chain across Ireland. These milestones forged our reputation for exceptional quality and innovation, paving the way for new collaborations with brands and building long lasting partnerships.

Years of development

Today, DELI LITES Ireland is still proudly family-run by Jackie and Brian. Our team has grown to over 300 talented people, all dedicated to creating food that excites and inspires. From our purpose-built facility in Co. Down, we supply retailers and cafés across Ireland and internationally.

While we’ve grown into a global exporter, our ethos remains the same: crafting fresh, gourmet food-to-go that’s good for people, good for business, and good for the planet. Our vision is to reimagine how the world experiences food on the move and we’re only just getting started!
