ENVIRONMENTAL
SUSTAINABILITY
Introducing Waste Water Treatment.
Installing a wastewater treatment facility will allow us to achieve 99% efficiency in removal of suspended solids and FOGs in our wastewater. Additionally, this will provide a 40% reduction in power consumption and chemical consumption, compared to other industrial systems.
Introduced 6 electric vehicles.
We have already replaced 6 diesel company vehicles with fully electric alternatives, and we plan to further increase the adoption of electric and low-carbon transport into our fleet in the future.
‘Adopted a spot’for regular litter picks.
Partnering with KeepNortherIrelandBeautiful has allowed us to ‘Adopt a Spot’ where we host regular litter picks to keep our local area clean. It sounds quite simple but has a massive impact on the area, the wildlife, and the people. Get out there and pick up some rubbish!
Carbon neutral plant-based range.
With growing awareness of the environmental impact of our food, we have developed an innovative carbon-neutral plant-based range and are introducing ecolabelling on products, helping to address ingredients with the largest carbon footprints.
Partnered with Farming Carbon.
We have partnered with Farming Carbon to promote regenerative farming, climate resilience and conservation at a local level. By planting trees on smallholder farms we create more woodland corridors through our rural community, developing essential habitats for wildlife.
Using renewable electricity sources.
Using renewable electricity sources has greatly reduced our environmental impact in addition our rooftop solar panels produce 44,000 kWh annually – equivalent to the average consumption of eleven four-person households.
Reduced carbon emissions by 30%.
We have reduced our ‘Scope 2’ carbon emission by 30% through various sustainable initiatives including decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels, improving energy efficiency, environmental partnerships and promoting an eco-conscious workplace culture.
Reduced waste to landfill by 20%.
Food waste has significant social, economic, and environmental implications, generating greenhouse gas emissions and squandering resources. Reducing waste is crucial for sustainable food production and natural resource conservation, that’s why we partner with TooGoodToGo and FareShare to reduce our waste to landfill.
